Yulin in the Northern part of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province is famous for its paper cutting art.
Every year during the Spring Festival, people here will decorate their windows with red paper cuts, which are works of the unique North Shaanxi paper cutting.
To master the art of scissors and paper, paper-cutting artists usually need years or even decades of training and practice.
In 2009, Chinese paper-cut was listed in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
