There is a little songbird(鳴禽), whose tongue tip is so agile(敏捷的) that she can imitate all the sounds vividly. Everyone admires her skill.

A little chickadee(山雀) drops down and hurts him while practicing flying. The little songbird calls the chickadee's mother by imitating his chirping(鳴叫). The whole family of the chickadee is very thankful for that.

“What do you ask me here for?” the eagle demands. “I...I did not ask you here,” the little songbird stammers(結(jié)結(jié)巴巴地說). “You are lying!” the eagle says angrily. “I was chasing a quarry when I heard your calling, so I came here. Now, you serve as my food!” From then on, this little songbird has never been seen any more.
“你叫我來干嘛?”老鷹問。 “我……我沒叫您來啊?!睍?huì)唱歌的小鳥這下結(jié)巴了。 “你胡說!”老鷹生氣地說,“我正追獵物呢,就聽見你叫了,所以我就來了?,F(xiàn)在,我要把你吃掉!” 從那以后,再也沒人見過這只會(huì)唱歌的小鳥。
法國(guó)作家維克多·雨果(Victor Hugo,1802—1885)在《笑面人》中寫道:“賣弄風(fēng)騷的女人和賣弄學(xué)問的男人好比兩個(gè)鄰居。他們的關(guān)系可以從自命不凡的態(tài)度上看出來。”
